We all have common misconception that the great photos can only be taken during the foreign country visit or at the spots. But actually we are surrounded by the beauties of which we don't even have the slightest idea. As Einstein said that  'There are only two ways to live your life. One,nothing is a miracle. Two,everything is a miracle.' As a photographer I will always like to see a world as Miracle because beauty is in everything but only gifted can see it.


The Mount Mary Church
 

The Mount Mary church ! such a pleasant and beautiful  place to visit. Though you are not a Christian still you will love visiting this site. The Mount Mary church, which is been located in Bandra, Mumbai  is also know as The Basilica of our lady of the Mount. Basically it is a Roman catholic Basilica. This holy place is very crowded during the Mount Mary festival. The Blessed virgin Mary's birthday is celebrated here which is a week long locally known as the Bandra fair and it is been visited by people of different religion, as India has adopted the principle of sarva-dharma-samabhav. The principle is simple which is embodying the equality of all religions.
During the fair Street shopping , street events , concerts, plays, and rides form a major part of this festival. Once you have visited the chapel and paid a visit to the wax statues of  virgin Mary ,you can stroll through the streets, which will take you to the bandstand, what a beautiful place to spend time with your loved ones!(sorry if you are single, no offence buddy!)



Quick Look At The History 

 The word basilica stands for hillock(a small hill or mound).The blessed virgin Mary was the mother of Jesus Christ her birthday is celebrated as bandra fair or fest people come here from far places to show their love affection and to make a wish. The history of blessed virgin Mary when Jesus priests from Portugal brought the state and constructed a chapel the current church a large, imposing building is just 100 year old. in 1700 Arab pirates interested in the gilt-lined object held in the hand disfigured the state by cutting off the right hand. The church was destroyed in 1738 during a raid by the Marathas. In 1760, the church was rebuilt and the statue was replaced with a statue of Our lady of Navigators in St.Andrew's church which is nearby.

How Can One Visit Mount Mary
From Bandra station there are special B.E.S.T. buses available for the devotees or else you can catch a rickshaw. The NSS unit over there is fully functional. They manages the crowd very properly and maintain discipline near the church. They will also guide you till the church.
